Overview for Weil-McLain 383500737
Over the last 130 years, Weil-McLain has built a reputation of designing some of the most reliable boilers in the marketplace. Their dedication to producing long-lasting heating solutions is seen in every boiler they make. Weil-McLain's Ultra hot water boiler is highly efficient, simple to install, and remarkably durable. The Ultra is a brilliant addition to any hydronic heating system, and the low profile means that it is easy to fit into even the smallest of spaces. Using condensing technology, the Ultra will reuse heat that escapes from conventional boilers, providing greater efficiency. Equipped with Weil-McLain's proprietary U-Control system, the Ultra is a very user-friendly boiler. Clear display screens relay information about operations, temperatures, and even the maintenance schedule and your contractor's contact information. With U-Control and a 92.5% AFUE, the Ultra 299 makes comfort and efficiency more accessible than ever before.
Nano-Coated Heat Exchanger
With a nano-coated heat exchanger, the Ultra boilers won't need cleaning for 5 years after installation. When it comes time to clean, simply rinse the exchanger with water and replace.
Outdoor Reset Control
An outdoor reset sensor is included with every Ultra boiler. This sensor, when paired with the U-Control system, allows your boiler temperature to be adjusted relative to the temperature outside, eliminating excess energy use and guaranteeing comfort.
Clean, Efficient Burner
The Ultra 299 has a stainless steel, modulating burner. Modulating burners scale heat production to your boiler's demand, further improving energy efficiency. A venturi mixing body combines gas and air prior to ignition for low NOx operations.
U-Control
Weil-McLain's U-Control makes it simple to set up even the most complex applications. Preset system configurations may be used right out of the box or customized to your liking. Multiple boilers can be staged together through the U-Control as well.
Advanced Condensate Management
The Ultra 299 incorporates polypropylene piping and nanotechnology coating, preventing condensate build-up and damage caused by acidic condensate penetration.
Easy Installation
Weil-McLain has included piping at the top and base of the unit to provide flexibility in how you install the Ultra. All electrical components come pre-wired, color-coded, and connected to the U-Control.
5-Year Protection Plan*
This free protection plan covers parts and labor for any defective electronic or mechanical part furnished by Weil-McLain for up to five years from the installation date of your Ultra boiler.
Product Includes:
(1) Weil-McLain Ultra 299 Hot Water Boiler
(1) Taco 0014 Circulator

Medium MediumMedium refers to the substance that carries heat through the heating system. Systems are either designed to use either Hot Water or Steam as a medium, and components are usually specific to one or the other.
Hot Water
Fuel Type Fuel TypeTo create heat, some form of fuel is required. Fuel Type specifies what the product uses as an input to create heat.
Natural Gas
Combustion Type Combustion TypeCondensing appliances use leftover thermal energy from combustion gases to heat water in a secondary heat exchanger, resulting in higher efficiency and lower exhaust temperature.
Condensing
Vent Type Vent TypeProducts that use combustion (burning) of fuel to create heat also create potentially dangerous gasses that need to be exhausted (AKA "Vented"). Depending on the product, venting can be done via a chimney, through a side wall, or use a second vent to provide fresh air to the appliance.
Direct Vent
DHW Production DHW ProductionDHW (Domestic Hot Water) is potable water for uses other than space heat. Some boilers are able to provide DHW "out of the box", while others can do so with the purchase of optional accessories.

Modulating/Staging Modulating/StagingStages are unique speeds or levels that equipment can operate at. More stages allow for better fine-tuned control of output, which improves comfort and efficiency. Modulating equipment can operate across a range of levels, giving the highest level of fine-tuned control.

Performance
AFUE AFUEAFUE (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency) measures the efficiency of combustion equipment over the entire heating season, and is calculated by dividing the amount of energy that is actually heating your home by the total energy contained in the fuel used by the boiler/furnace.

Maximum Input Capacity Maximum Input CapacityThe Maximum Input Capacity describes how quickly the appliance will use fuel when delivering it's maximum capacity. The units may change depending on the fuel being used.
299000 BTU
Minimum Input Capacity
62000 BTU
DOE Heating Capacity DOE Heating CapacityAlso referred to as Gross Output, this is the output of a boiler after accounting for combustion efficiency. We recommend sizing hot water boilers based on the DOE Heating Capacity.
270000 BTU
Net I=B=R Capacity Net I=B=R CapacityI=B=R, also referred to as Net Output or AHRI Capacity, is the rated heat output of a boiler after accounting for combustion efficiency, piping loss, and an extra pickup factor. We recommend sizing steam boilers based on the I=B=R rating.
235000 BTU
Ultra Low NOx Emissions Ultra Low NOx EmissionsNOx is a byproduct of the combustion process, and it's output is regulated in some jurisdictions. Many regulators mirror SCAQMD rules, which regulate air quality for some parts of Southern California. Ultra Low NOx appliances emit less than 10-14 ng/J (nanogram per Joule) of NOx.
