Overview for Tekmar 406

For nearly three decades, tekmar has been providing zoning and control solutions for a variety of heating and cooling applications. Products made by tekmar can improve the efficiency and comfort delivered by almost any system. The tekmar 406 House Control is used to manage the hot and chilled water temperatures in a two-pipe, single tank, hydronic heating and cooling system. This unit controls a two-stage heat pump as well as a backup source of heat, such as a single-stage or modulating boiler. It may provide power and control for several system pumps, a variable speed mixing pump, and four zone valves. With a tekmar 406, you may use your backup boiler for DHW and setpoint temperatures. The 406 House Control is tekmarNet 2 compatible, and it possesses several energy saving features, including outdoor temperature reset, to make your system more economical.
  • Synchronize Your Zones, Save Energy
  • This tekmar control allows your tekmarNet 2 thermostats to communicate with each other. Communication means that your thermostats can synchronize their cycles, when possible, instead of operating independently.
  • tekmarNet 4 Expansion
  • The tekmar 406 contains two expansion terminals, which allow you to add tekmarNet 4 controls into your communication system. Find the perfect configuration to maximize your efficiency and comfort.
  • Intelligent Control
  • The tekmar 402 monitors the outdoor and water temperature at various points throughout the system. Using this information it is able to determine the most appropriate supply temperature, boiler firing rate, and mixing pump activation periods.
  • By constantly monitoring conditions and making continuous adjustments, the tekmar 406 delivers unparalleled comfort and efficiency.
  • Warm Weather Shutdown
  • A warm weather shut down temperature may be programmed to prevent your system from running when it in unnecessary or untenable.
  • Automates Boiler Differential
  • The tekmar 406 House Control can automatically adjust your boiler differential to discourage short cycling.
