Baseboard Heaters

Electric baseboard heaters are an inexpensive piece of equipment that provides heat for a home, and runs completely on electricity either 110 volts or 220 volts. Often used in a small home or in an addition because of the cost of electricity. Baseboard heaters come in numerous capacity and lengths, the longer the baseboard heater the greater the capacity. The temperature would be regulated by a thermostat which could install on either end of it, and can be purchased separately as accessory. The baseboard heater operates by convection, so the heating element which is stainless steel; which is along the inside will heat up, and as the baseboard heater heats the warm air will gradually and effortlessly drift into the room. The baseboard heater also has a safety element which runs along the length of the unit, which shuts the baseboard heater off if the temperature becomes excessive.

Oil & Gas Furnace

Oil & Gas Furnace

Oil & gas furnaces are heating components usually used in cold climates. A oil furnace converts oil into heat, while the gas furnaces convert gas into heat. The main components involved in this process are the burners, blower, controls, and heat exchanger. The way an oil furnace functions is by having oil pumped from a storage tank into the furnace where it is converted to a mist. This mist is then shot into a blast tube and ignited. The flame heats inside the heat exchanger and is blown through the ductwork. . The gas furnace; on the other hand, operates a bit differently, it starts by using a silicon nitride igniter to light a burner inside the combustion chamber, the heat created from this process is then pressed into the heat exchanger. Then the heated air moves through the ductwork heating the home.

Electric Fireplace & Hearth

Electric Fireplace & Hearth

An electric fireplace is a fireplace that is fueled on electricity, rather than gas, wood, or alternative fuels. Though electricity has a tendency to be more expensive than the alternatives, it is also more accessible. Electric fireplaces are just as safe as the gas alternatives, but without the danger of a gas leak. These fireplaces are clean burning, and are easy to install. An accessory to the electric fireplace is a hearth. The fireplace hearth is used to protect nearby people and animals safe from embers, and ash. Fireplace hearths are a physical barrier to the fireplace, and can serve as a decoration if built to specifications.

Portable Heaters

Portable Heaters

A portable heater often referred to as a “space heater,” is a portable heating device that is commonly used when other sources of heat are scarce. The two main types of electric portable heaters are convection heaters, and infrared heaters. Electric heaters are typically non-flammable, as opposed to other portable heaters. Convenience is the biggest feature on the electric portable heater, generally no matter where you go, if it’s cold you portable heater can warm you up.

Tankless Water Heaters

Tankless Water Heaters

A tankless water heater is an efficient machine that uses a heat exchanger to heat water. A tankless water heater only heats the water that is needed saving money on energy. Since the tankless water heater doesn’t have a storage container, there is no shortage of hot water. The second the tankless water heater detects a demand for water flow, it begins to heat the water. When water flow comes to a halt, and the tankless water heater is not in use, it shuts down, using less energy.
