The Goodman® 2006 AEPF Multi-Position, Variable-Speed Air Handler is suitable for use with refrigerants R-410A and R-22 (models ending in /16). The Air Handler's blower design includes a variable-speed DC motor that allows for a soft start and stop for quieter, more efficient operation and eliminates the cold blast of air upon heating start-up. Using an ECM™ motor, the AEPF is ideal for new or retrofit applications.

  This air handler operates with an air conditioner or heat pump of three different tonnages, The air handler comes factory equipped with an orifice (Flowrater) for the small listed tonnage. If you are matching the air hander with an air conditioner or heat pump of the higher tonnage, the Flowrater of that tonnage will need to be used. If a new Goodman air conditioner or heat pump is purchased together with the air handler, the correct Flowrator will be provided with that unit. If you are just purchasing this air handler and are going to match it with a unit of the higher tonnage listed on the description, you will need to purchase the larger Flowrater and install it in the air handler before start up. Instead of Flowrater a Thermostatic Expansion Valve (TXV) may be used or required for some equipment. ( For  details click on product resources tab for Manufactures spec sheets). A heater coil can be added to this Air Handler to provide winter-time heating capabilities. This accessory is not required for standard operation it provides additional convenience if desired.
